The board of the Netherlands Ceramic Society (NKV) is pleased to invite you for our next meeting on Thursday April 6. On this date, you are welcome to visit the company Panalytical in Almelo, followed by the Student Speech Contest where young ceramic researchers present there research, and ‘battle’ with each other for a ticket to the European Ceramic Society conference later this year.
Program
10.00 : Reception at Panalytical, manufacturer of equipment for X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) measurements, followed by a presentation by Panalytical on these XRD/XRF techniques and their application for ceramic and other materials
11.00 : Company tour at Panalytical
12.30-13.00 : Transfer by car to Zalencentrum Het Anker, Wilhelminastraat 28 in Wierden for the follow-up program
13.00 : Lunch at Het Anker
14.00 : Student Speech Contest (English language) – PhD/MSc students give a presentation of approx. 20 minutes about their ceramic-related investigation. This year, the topics will include ceramic membranes, bioceramics, piezo-electric composites, ceramics for solar applications and self healing ceramic coatings. A jury will assess these presentations, and the winner will be the Dutch representative for the European Student Speech Contest in July of this year in Budapest (Hungary).
17.00 : Warm & cold buffet, with the result of the Contest

You can register – preferably instantly, but on April 3 at the latest – by sending an e-mail to eddy.brinkman@betase.nl (or a reply to this invitation) in which you indicate with how many persons you will be present.
Participation costs
Are you a student and do you participate in the Student Speech Contest, then you will pay nothing. NKV members and their partners or guests will pay 30 euros per person, with a maximum of 1 accompanied partner/guest per NKV member. All other participants pay 40 euros per person. At the same time as your registration, you will pay the amount due on our bank account number, mentioning your name and ‘NKV April 2017’. In case of no-show, and if you did not cancel at least 4 days in advance, we will still charge you for the expenses incurred (i.e. for the buffet).
